State Representative Mike Demicco (D-21st District) was unanimously endorsed to run for a sixth term at a recent meeting of the Farmington Democratic Town Committee. “It has been an honor and a privilege to serve Farmington and Unionville in the General Assembly, and I look forward to continuing that service,” Demicco said. “Representing our town in the legislature is a huge responsibility, and I’m proud to have worked in a bi-partisan fashion to help solve some of Connecticut’s most pressing problems.”
Demicco was first elected to the legislature in 2012, after serving four terms on the Farmington Town Council. He is currently a Deputy Majority Leader in the House of Representatives, and serves on the Environment, Public Health, and Energy & Technology Committees.
“As we transition out of the pandemic to a more normal way of life, I am committed to ensuring that our state government continues to be responsive to the needs of all our residents, schools, and businesses,” Demicco said. “Connecticut faces many challenges in the coming months and years. It will require experienced, thoughtful leadership to deliver meaningful tax relief, reduce our carbon footprint, promote business retention and expansion, and address our transportation, health, energy, and housing needs. With the support of the residents of the 21st District, I will continue my efforts to make people’s lives better.”
