The Connecticut High School Boys’ Basketball State Division III Championship was held on Sunday March 17th in the Mohegan Sun Arena. The Farmington Indians got off to a slow start against the strong defense of the Amistad (New Haven) Wolves. Down by nine at the half, Farmington scored the first 12 points of the third quarter to take the lead. Amistad fought its way back, but a strong fourth quarter by the 18-3 Farmington Indians sealed the 55-45 victory for our hometown team. The win marks the first time the Farmington Indians have won the State of Connecticut Boy’s Basketball Championship.
A special election will be held on Tuesday April 16, 2019 for the 19th District House of Representative seat left vacant when Derek Slap was elected to the Connecticut State Senate’s 5th District seat.
Tammy Exum is the Democratic candidate for the 19th House District, which serves a portion of Farmington, including the Oakland Gardens section, most of West Hartford, and a portion of Avon.
A champion of education, Tammy Exum is a former elementary school Teacher and former President and Executive Board Member of West Hartford’s Special Education PTA’s local chapter and the former Vice Chair of The West Hartford Board of Education.
