Paula O’Brien – Bio:

A resident of Farmington since 2000, Paula O’Brian is firmly committed to the future of this community and its residents. Paula had been a member of the Board of Education since 2010, but has decided to continue to serve her community through the Town Planning and Zoning Board as an Alternate.

Paula received her undergraduate degree from Cornell University, and then went on to earn a JD from the University of Florida College of Law. She has vast experience in private practice as well as management roles with Kraft Foods and Georgia Pacific Corp. The negotiation and strategic planning that she learned in these positions, allowed for natural transition to the service she provided while a member of the BOE. During her time as a BOE member, Paula chaired the negotiations committee and served as a member of the curriculum and policy committees. In addition to her community work with the BOE, Paula has served on the Board of Directors for the Farmington Public School Foundation, Winding Trails and the Village Nursery School.

Paula and her husband have two sons, one currently in college and one a high school junior. When not volunteering locally, Paula enjoys spending time with family, friends and her loyal side-kick, Gem, a Boston Terrier. She and Gem can often be found at the soccer fields, walking the trials or curled up with a good book (for Paula) and a tennis ball (for Gem).
