Matt Hutvagner – Bio:
Matt Hutvagner is excited to seek a term on the Farmington Town Council. Matt is a father of twin boys and is married to his wife Liz. Matt’s children both attend Union School.
Matt is a working professional with over 15 years of finance and accounting experience at the Walt Disney Company supporting ESPN. Matt leads a team of individuals through the fast paced long-term and day-to-day finance and accounting activities of several high value live event and studio television productions. Matt is accountable for budget planning, cost control efficiencies and key stakeholder strategy and advice. He is a trusted advisor and collaborator to executive leadership. He has developed many creative workflow improvements and implemented many cost efficiencies throughout his career. Matt has both his Bachelor of Science, Finance and Masters of Business Administration from the University of Connecticut.
Matt’s professional experience in budget management, cost efficiency and cost control will be a great asset for the Farmington Town Council. Matt looks forward to collaborating with town officials to make sure Farmington continues to have a competitive mill rate. Similar to his professional background, Matt will ensure our town resources are managed effectively and efficiently. Matt is a father who knows how to manage a household budget, as well as a budget for a business. Matt will use those personal and professional skills to provide key oversight for the Town of Farmington finances.
Matt is a strong advocate for the Town of Farmington. Matt believes in fostering a strong sense of community and civic engagement. Matt is a member of the Farmington Board of Assessment Appeals. He, along with his fellow Board members, listen to property assessment appeals to ensure the taxpayer’s voice is heard, and tax assessment is fair and reasonable. Matt also volunteers his time as the Treasurer for the Unionville Cub Scout Pack #170, Union School PTO Liaison to the Town Council and he is a member of St. Mary’s Church in Unionville, CT.
Matt looks forward to meeting members of the community, and will always take the time to discuss issues important to them. Matt is passionate about our town, our great school system and historic and natural landscape.
