James Rackliffe – Bio:

Working to help pass the recent Farmington High School referendum motivated candidate James Rackliffe to run for the Town Plan and Zoning Commission (Alternate). “I felt an incredible amount of satisfaction advocating for my children, the education they receive, and the town that I love to live in…I felt like I could do more for our town and that is why I wanted to get involved.” In addition to education, James is passionate about working to attract and keep small to medium businesses and growing the grand list to keep our taxes low while using careful consideration to minimize any increase in traffic. James believes the congestion on Route 4 is negatively impacting our town and it is one of his focus issues. As an alternate on the Commission, James plans to engage with elected representatives within the TPZ and Town Council in exploring fresh, out-of-the-box ways to improve our town.

James and his wife Carolyn have been proud Farmington residents for the past 12 years and have two children, Finlay and Weston. James has a degree in Finance and Communications from Arizona State University, and has over 15 years of experience in the insurance industry. He currently works for Berkley Management Protection in West Hartford.

James is excited to be a part of the team that works to keep Farmington a safe, great place to live, work and do business.
