The FDTC is saddened to learn of the passing of a friend who has given so much to our town. We feel the words of Barbara Brenneman best express all of our thoughts about Jack….
“Every once in a while you meet someone who leaves a lasting impression. I met that special guy, Jack Matava, a number of years ago and we became friends. Jack was a man who loved this town and his roots were here. Jack gave back to so many people, in so many ways, so many times it is hard to fathom.
Believing in Community and willing to support Farmington any way Jack could, he leaves a legacy for his children to cherish. Unionville will never be the same without Jack and I personally will miss his humor and stories about his racing, flying, hockey pals, and travels. I was lucky enough to serve with Jack on P&Z and he also served many years as a member of the WPCA. If you knew Jack Matava you knew his kindness and generosity.
Let us remember Jack with that same kindness. Our prayers go to his family and friends at this time that tichey may heal and find peace and go forward with great memories of Jack Matava.”
