Chris Cloud – Bio:

Christopher R. Cloud, candidate for the Zoning Board of Appeals, is a leader in government, business and non-profit organizations and is a committed, active member of the greater Hartford area community. He brings not only professional expertise, but also a deep dedication to the Farmington community. A 1991 graduate of Howard University, Chris is a partner in the government relations firm Camilliere, Cloud & Kennedy and a partner of the Cloud Company LLC, a family-owned real estate and business investment firm. His work has spanned the public and private sectors, also including time as a member of the CT General Assembly staff, as a legislative aide to State Sen. Eric D. Coleman, and as a staffer for U.S. Senator Christopher J. Dodd. 


Chris also has a powerful sense of community and history. For eight years, he served as President and CEO of the non-profit AMISTAD America Inc., which built, owned and operated the State of Connecticut’s Official Flagship and Tall Ship Ambassador, Freedom Schooner Amistad, and in 2004, he received the prestigious Tourism Ambassador Award from the State of Connecticut. 


Chris lives in Farmington with his wife Stacy and their twin sons Prescott and Sanford. At home, he’s also deeply involved in a variety of local boards and commissions. He is Chair of the Black Giving Circle at the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving and Chair of the Racial Equity Taskforce for the Town of Farmington. In addition, he has served on  the boards of the Knox Foundation (Chair), Greater Hartford Arts Council, Greater Hartford Convention and Visitors Bureau, Connecticut Institute for the Blind, Howard University Greater Hartford Alumni Association, The Board of Overseers of the Bushnell Theater, Riverfront Recapture, Hartford Metro Hartford Chamber of Commerce and the Legislative Committee for the Greater Hartford Juvenile Diabetes Foundation and the Hebrew Home and Hospital. He  is also a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated and Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity, Beta Iota Chapter.
