Barbara Brenneman – Bio:

Barbara Brenneman’s family bought their Lovely Street house in Unionville in 1977, and she has been an enthusiastic member of the local community ever since. Now a Twin Ponds resident, she enjoys gardening and watching the wildlife outside her door. Barbara’s dreams are met with abundance the bears, birds and bunnies of Farmington visiting her regularly at the ponds!

Barbara’s adult life has been filled with volunteering for many local organizations and communities. Farmington Democrats recruited her in the late 1980s to be an Alternate on the Planning & Zoning & Wetland Commission, and she was elected as a Regular Member a few years later. Currently, she proudly serves on the Housing Partnership Committee, and is the elected Democratic Registrar of Voters.

After many years in real estate, Barbara remains a partner/owner of Leaders Real Estate in Farmington. Though semi-retired, she remains involved in the business and the business’ ability to positively shape the local community.

Barbara is the mother of four adult daughters, all of whom graduated from Farmington High School and then went on to further education and invigorating careers. In addition to remaining active in the Farmington community, she enjoys traveling with family and friends, spending free time reading and watching her five grandchildren grow and play sports.

A longtime supporter of the ongoing attempt to retain Farmington’s residential character, Barbara remains committed to making the best and responsible decisions for Farmington’s future, to endorse open space acquisition, and to support sensible growth for our town.
