Madelyn Colon – Bio:

With extensive experience in public service, Madelyn Colon has collaborated with City Managers, Mayors, public officials, local residents and community stakeholders to advance mission-driven programs throughout her career. Born and raised in Hartford, Madelyn served as Connecticut’s Assistant State Treasurer from 1999 to 2005, and as Senior Policy Analyst in the Office of the State Treasurer.

As the City of Hartford underwent a substantial transition throughout the 1990s, Madelyn served as Executive Director of the City of Hartford Redevelopment Agency, leading an organization instrumental in the Capital’s rejuvenation initiatives and rebuilding plans. Today she serves as a consultant in public policy and community development, continuing to participate in the process of strengthening local communities.

Madelyn earned her undergraduate degree from Wesleyan University, and M.P.A. and M.B.A. degrees from the University of Hartford’s Barney School of Business.

Madelyn serves on the Board of Directors of the Farmington Woods Master Association. She is a proud new grandmother to Asher, who lives too far away in Chicago, and loves reading historical fiction.
