Marcie Schwartz – Bio:

Marcie Schwartz and her husband Jim Calciano, purchased their Farmington Village home in 1988. With their two children, they have long enjoyed the benefits of their town’s great school choices, extra-curricular town activities, its beautiful outdoors and welcoming community.

Marcie received her undergraduate degree from SUNY/Buffalo. She began her career in Health Care Management at Blue Cross/Blue Shield, while at the same time working toward her MBA from Boston University. She transitioned to Information Technology in both direct sales and management positions at Hewlett Packard in Connecticut, and later completed her career at Intel Corporation as a Business Development Manager. During her professional career, Marcie developed programs that identified and created business opportunities for both Hewlett Packard and Intel. Her skills as a leader and innovative thinker on a team that placed strong emphasis on input and feedback resulted in growing team sales year over year, and bolstered successful project completion. Throughout her career she was tenacious and dedicated, an approach that will benefit Farmington Town Planning and Zoning.

Influencing future growth and prosperity for all Farmington residents is Marcie’s passion. She is an advocate for smart business expansion through programs designed to attract corporations, retail business and restaurants to Farmington locations, and has a particular interest in the completion of the proposed Rte. 4 development (Parsons property) and locations in Unionville Center to enhance the value of Farmington.

Marcie enthusiastically endorses maintaining open space and has participated in fund-raising activities for the Farmington Land Trust. She volunteers with Connecticut Invention Convention, which encourages STEM activities for students statewide. She also has served on the Board of Directors for the Stanley Whitman House.

Now retired, Marcie has time to enjoy the woodlands and riverfronts of our town, frequently hiking and biking the trails around Farmington. She also can be found at the theater in Hartford, taking classes, enjoying a good book or viewing a documentary film.
