Ellen Siuta – Bio:

Ellen Siuta is a longtime advocate and community activist for education in Farmington. A former PTO President, school and library volunteer, she founded and remains actively involved in Farmington Future, a bi-partisan budget advocacy group dedicated to maintaining the quality of town services. She is also a former board member of the Farmington Public School Foundation, served on numerous school advisory councils and enjoys volunteer work providing transportation for Services for the Elderly.

Ellen is serving her 9th year on the Farmington Board of Education. She is a member of the BOE Community Relations committee, has served on many Principal and Administrative search committees, and was selected as the BOE liaison for the NEASC Accreditation at Farmington High School. Ellen loves to attend school events, especially concerts, art shows, high school sporting events and, most of all, high school musicals.

An experienced and trusted board member, Ellen puts the children of Farmington first. She is committed to working collaboratively with all town and school officials as the district continues its efforts to remain a leader in public education, and using her knowledge of school budgeting to prepare for the fiscal challenges of diminished grant and state funding.

Ellen looks forward to continuing to serve with energy and focus to ensure that Farmington students are prepared to face the challenges of local, national and global issues in our rapidly changing world. Married with four sons who attended Farmington Public Schools, Ellen enjoys reading and practicing yoga, and her favorite time of the day is when her dog Nellie takes her for a long walk.
